Short answer
A Letter of Credit tracking spreadsheet keeps every open credit, its key dates and its document status in one place. Include one row per credit (or per shipment under a credit) with the amount, dates, required documents and status, so nothing reaches the deadline unnoticed.
| One row per | Credit or shipment |
|---|---|
| Must-track dates | 44C, presentation deadline, 31D |
| Review | At least weekly |
Columns
- Credit number and issuing bank.
- Buyer and country.
- Amount, currency, tolerance.
- Latest shipment, presentation deadline, expiry.
- Amendments received and accepted.
- Required documents and status of each.
- Presentation date and bank.
- Payment status and date.
Good practice
- Highlight deadlines within 7 days.
- Record who owns each document.
- Archive closed credits separately.
