Charter Party Bill of Lading Under UCP 600
When a charter party bill of lading is acceptable and how UCP 600 Article 22 treats it.

Short answer
A charter party bill of lading is examined under UCP 600 Article 22, not Article 20. It is only acceptable if the credit permits it. It must be signed by the master, owner or charterer (or agent), show the on-board date and ports, and banks will not examine the charter party contract itself even if the credit requires it to be presented (Art. 22(b)).
| Rule | UCP 600 Art. 22 |
|---|---|
| Acceptable | Only if credit allows |
| Charter party | Not examined by banks |
