What ISBP 821 is, how it complements UCP 600, and how banks use it to examine Letter of Credit documents.

Short answer
ISBP 821 (International Standard Banking Practice) is an ICC publication that explains how the principles of UCP 600 are applied by document checkers in practice. It is not a separate rulebook the credit must incorporate; banks treat it as the reference for international standard banking practice under UCP 600 Article 2 and 14.
