Short answer
Field 42C gives the tenor of any draft (bill of exchange), such as 'AT SIGHT' or '90 DAYS AFTER B/L DATE'. Field 42A/42D names the drawee, which under UCP 600 Art. 6(c) must not be the applicant. If 42C is present, a draft must be presented with the documents.
| 42C | Draft tenor |
|---|---|
| 42A/42D | Drawee bank |
| Rule | Drawee not applicant (Art. 6(c)) |
